Tiger Tips, Chitwan Nat'l Park, Nepal

Based on personal experience, here are some tips on handling a tiger:
  1. Find yourself a tiger. Mine was an orphan 'cause his mama was a man-eater.
  2. As your tiger's tail flicks tantalizing close, stick your fingers through the cage to try to touch it.
  3. When your guide suggests that using a small stick may be a 'smarter' move, try that.
  4. When Martin, your fellow traveler, also tries for the tail, you lose interest and move to the other corner for a better view.
  5. Watch as the tiger gets up & walks to your corner. Admire its lean, sleek movement.
  6. Jump backwards, astonishingly fast, when your tiger belts out a massive roar.
  7. Slink back to the jeep, nervously laughing about how a little stick can have such a strong impact.
