A pretty town with towering limestone karsts, thick greenery and a lovely river, Yangshuo is a fun town that sees many foreigners but much larger crowds of Chinese tourists. It is overly visited and wholly contrived but the food is good. China has only so many tourist attractions but a huge population of young earners who want to enjoy themselves. Inflated prices, heavy rain and persistent street vendors are par for the course here. Further north, many also visit an impressive system of terraced rice paddies that seem to climb forever.
