You may notice a subtle trend here.For such a horrible leader, Mao is still highly revered in China. He ruled from 1949-1976 and orchestrated heaps of disastrous policies including the Great Leap Forward (it wasn't) and the 10-year Cultural Revolution that saw the destruction of most of the country's heritage. Ironically, his influential wife was even more awful.
The official party line is “that Mao was 70% right and just 30% wrong in his leadership of the country." I wish 'the party' had marked my calculus exams.
